Whether you're celebrating with that special someone or finishing up a bottle of wine with the girls, these Valentine's wine bottle candle holders are the perfect, affordable center piece.

Here is what you'll need:

- Empty wine bottle (rinsed and dried)

- Acrylic paint (red, pink or white)

- Paper plate

- White, taper candles

To get started, grab any empty wine bottle you have sitting around, or pop open a new one and treat yourself! Either is fine. I prefer to use the Côte des Roses rosé wine bottles, but any clear glass wine bottle you have sitting around will do the trick!

My family and I have always loved the chic beauty of these bottles. The intricate rose design on the bottom always captured my creativity so much so that I could never throw them away.

It's time to get crafty. Next, gather up different shades of pink, red or white acrylic paint. I chose to use red, bubble gum pink and hot pink.

Once you have your paint selection, simply lay the lip of the paint bottles on the opening of wine bottle and squirt some paint to run down the inside. You definitely do not need as much paint as you might think. Be patient and let the paint continue to run down the inside. The paint will continue to spread for the next several hours.

This is where your creativity can kick in! I chose to alternate my colors as I went around the inside of the bottle; red, then bubble gum pink, then hot pink. Feel free to add in a little more paint as you feel needed.

As the paint continues to run down the inside, you can twist, spin or shake the bottle to move the paint around. I did some light twisting, but mostly let the paint run straight down.

Once the paint reaches the bottom of the bottle, grab a paper plate and turn the bottle upside down so the excess paint can run out. Beware, the bottle will not look exactly like it did when you poured the paint in. That is why it is important to not go too crazy with the amount of paint, especially if you want the bottle to have some areas with no paint.

Let the bottle stay on its head throughout the night. The next day, pick up the bottle and let the rest of the paint drain out. It may need to return back to the paper plate for a few hours to continue draining.

Once they have finished draining, turn the bottle right side up and let dry.

Lastly, grab white, taper candles to go in the bottle. I grabbed a pack of two from Target.

If the candles do not fit in the bottle, you may have to carve away at the bottoms or grab a lighter to soften up the wax.

Voila! Once your candles are in, light and enjoy your eye catching center piece!
